Carbon Fibre Fabric Supplier and Multiaxial Selection Guide

Compare biaxial, triaxial and quadraxial carbon fabrics by GSM, fibre orientation, width and manufacturing process; request a technical quotation.

2023 onwards

Short answer: Which carbon fibre fabric should you select?

Selection should not be based on areal weight alone. GSM, fibre orientation, fabric architecture, width, resin system and manufacturing method must be considered together. SDF Ticaret matches biaxial, triaxial and quadraxial options to the load directions of your application. ⚙️

Why does it matter?

Using fibres in the wrong direction or choosing unnecessary weight can increase mass without delivering the required stiffness. The reinforcement architecture should follow the load path. Technical requirements should therefore be defined before a commercial quotation.

  • ±45° biaxial: torsion and shear-dominated structures.
  • 0/90° biaxial: panels requiring balanced stiffness in two principal axes.
  • Triaxial: structures requiring angular support in addition to a main direction.
  • Quadraxial: multi-directional load distribution and ply-count reduction.

How are GSM and orientation read?

GSM is the mass per square metre. Two fabrics with the same GSM may behave differently because fibre mass is distributed differently between orientations. Review the multiaxial carbon fibre fabric family and examples such as ±45° 300 GSM and 0/90° 400 GSM.

Information required for a quotation

  • Target GSM and orientation stack
  • Roll width and estimated quantity
  • Infusion, RTM, prepreg or hand-lay process
  • Resin system and cure temperature
  • Prototype, sample or serial-production quantity

Applications

Multiaxial carbon fabrics are considered for defence and aerospace, automotive, UAV, rail, marine, sporting goods and high-performance industrial components. Product selection supports, but does not replace, final engineering design and validation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between 150 GSM and 600 GSM?

A 600 GSM fabric carries more fibre per ply and builds thickness faster, but drape and resin flow on complex geometry must be checked.

Can carbon fabric be used with resins other than epoxy?

Compatibility depends on fabric binder, process and target performance. A final recommendation should not be made without the resin system.

How do I request a sample and quotation?

Send the part, orientation, GSM, width and estimated demand through the quotation form. A suitable product and sample option will be proposed after technical review.
