GSM, fibre orientation (±45°, 0/90° etc.), fabric architecture, width, resin system, process method and annual demand are key selection inputs.
PVC foam offers a balanced cost and processing profile for marine and general industrial uses. PMI is preferred where aerospace, defence and rail applications require higher temperature capability, stiffness and performance.
Cell size affects surface stability and resin consumption, while density influences compression and shear performance. Selection should consider skins, load case and process pressure together.
The film service temperature must exceed the cure cycle peak, dwell time and safety margin. Resin chemistry and autoclave or oven conditions should also be evaluated.
